This past weekend was my last weekend as the Official NSBE president and my last Blue and White Game. It keeps hitting me that I get to leave this wonderful place and start in the real world - day by day, event by event. The weekend started with the annual NSBE Endowment Banquet. WE had a ton of our chapter come out as well as our advisor and one of our sponsors.

I had to give the State of the Chapter address. I talked about a lot of things that we did that were awesome this year and some things to work on! It's really exciting to see how many different new things that we brought to our chapter and will continue to get to the chapter. I also won the Ms. Impact award because I made an big impact on our NSBE chapter this year and that almost made me cry. It was so good to end my term with all this happy energy and I cannot wait to see what my best friend does as president! That night, I had engineering girl powwow with some of my friends and some awesome hard cider because we did not want to be hungover for tailgating on Saturday :]

Saturday started with mimosas and waffle tacos at KH's house. I was so excited to try something different and she knows how to throw down in the kitchen! (Thanks a million times, KH!)

After eating, we went tailgating before the game and it was awesome! I got to see a lot of my favorites and meet parents and family that came up for the weekend. There was plenty of food and alcohol dispersed with water because day drinking is an art at Penn State.

I wore a dress because that's how I dress for football games. It is an old one from Old Navy tied with a ribbon from Abercrombie. My little bag is from Kohl's and I had on some white Tennis shoes from Walmart because they are cheap and I don't care if they get messed up!

As with any tailgate - there is a ton of sitting in truck beds, drinking shots out of ice luges and dancing. I went into the game for a little bit at the end because I wanted to be in Beaver Stadium one last time as an undergraduate. It was bittersweet but my friend SS got this awesome shot of me and the Lion happened to be coming by. TALK ABOUT LUCK! That night I went to Liberty -a beer bar that I will have to do a review of - it was that awesome. I hung out with new friends from a club I am in and we had a blast playing Heads Up at the bar! Overall, I had a great time this weekend and it really cemented a great year with a great last Blue and White Game.

All was good in the Valley on Saturday. It was our first home game in almost a month and the pent up football energy was flowing at Penn State. Ohio State is one of our biggest rivalries in the Big Ten and we always wear white when we play those teams. We have one match like this a year and we call it the Whiteout Game. Everyone wears the best white gear and it is awesome to see how creative people can be with their outfits. One guy made a yeti suit out of the old shakers and it was so awesome! Luckily, the game was a night game - starting at 8 pm so tailgating was an obvious way to spend some of my Saturday after finishing some homework. It was so great to meet parents, eat food and enjoy friend time! I knew it would be cold so I layered a long white shirt with a cream cable knit. It was a good combo to wear and fit with the theme.

Our stadium was filled at 107, 890 people and it was awesome. The cheers were deafening and it was crazy energy all night. Ohio State fans who came to Penn State for the game said that it was the best college football game experience they had ever had because of the energy. If you can imagine 107k people doing a slow wave through the stadium, you can get an idea of the awesomeness at the game that night.  Being that we are Penn State, we made pom snow with our free shakers. It covered the field and even though it was obnoxious, it looked so cool! Towards the end of the game, my section got to pass the lion and he was GoProing the whole thing. I cannot wait to see that in a football promo video sometime soon!

Even though we lost in the second overtime to Ohio, the boys played so valiantly and I am so proud of them. Shoutouts to DaeSean Hamilton and Michael Hull who really pulled their weight this game as well as Christian Hackenburg, who got it together at the end of the game. It was my first Whiteout game and last Whiteout game as a student. I will never forget the way the crowd, the game and being in a huge family reunion of Penn Staters at night made me feel.

This weekend was the Penn State Homecoming game. It was a blast getting to see all the Alumni - even the ones from Alumni Blue Band. Penn State is such a tradition based school full of history that seeing and hearing the different perspectives of all the graduates makes me so happy.

The group of friends I went with to the game wanted to get there super early to be in the S Zone. Basically, the Blue and White Society - the Alumni organization - buys shirts that form a S - the old symbol of Penn State before it became the lion. Homecoming is even more special because you get a shirt in the original colors of Penn State - pink and black. I have every S Zone shirt made except for the white with the blue lettering. I love that our school encourages school spirit so much that they spell out the S every game. Below is a picture of KW and I rocking our S Zone t-shirts.

Being that it was homecoming, I always like to dress up a little and play with the Penn State colors. I wore these blue and white ikat shorts with a Penn State blue frat tank. It was perfect for the 80 degree weather that day and for all the walking we did to get to our friend's parents' tailgate. KW and I chilled in the car while most people played the frisbee can game or just talked under the tent. Dan's mom also made queso which apparently was delicious.

Yesterday was Penn State's first home game of the season! I love game days - not when it is too hot out but yesterday was a great time. We won 21 -3 against Akron. There were a few interceptions and wrong calls but overall Penn State did awesome. Coach Franklin is killing it! I wanted to wear something casual but not a t-shirt and shorts so I threw on one of my many blue and white striped dresses for the game. I bought this one at Old Navy a couple years ago and it was one of my best purchases ever.  I really think for these first couple of games, the key is to wear something that won't give you bad tan lines, feels comfortable, or show sweat. Standing for 4 hours in something that is not comfy will drive you insane.

P.S. One of my favorite parts of every game is the Blue Band Halftime Show. They always do the coolest themes and today's theme was Happy. Below is the best formation of the Blue Band during the show. While playing Happy, they formed into a smiley with a hat on -  it supposed to be Pharell!
